Since the beginning Body Nutrition always manufactured our products in house. However, we do much more than just manufacture our own brand and in fact over half our business derives from producing private label, custom formulations for a variety of health and grocery customers!

One thing that sets us apart is our creative-thinking and our curiosity. Although we have an extensive background in enterprise flavoring formulation, as consumers of our own products, we formulate products we would take ourselves. And this is what sets us apart from the rest because we think out-of-the-box!

If you’ve worked with the large manufacturers and formulators in the past you’ll find they’re very cookie-cutter and systematic: they do things according to a certain method and rarely deviate outside this routine. They’re basically a bureaucratic department where creativity is stifled.

On the other hand, we’re always looking at what’s hot in ingredient technologies: Is there anything new? How does it work differently? Does it improve upon anything we currently use? There are many new advancements each year from so many suppliers in proteins, carbohydrates and fats from the perspective of food functionality and we enjoy experimenting with them all.

Here’s an example: have you tried cooking with whey protein by substituting it for flour in a baked good recipe like a brownie, cookie or muffin? Regular whey makes it chewy, dry and deflated. To counteract these non-desirable effects we’ll use a combination of brand new protein and food technologies to re-introduce moistness, flavor and texture into the product!
